People watching at the Opening of Design Store TRE

TRE, a store for mostly Finnish Design, classics and new creations, opened it’s door on Mikonkatu 6 a couple of days ago. I went to the opening and so did 900 others. Have a look at some absolutely fabulous fashion and design people that I met. The store also has it’s own online media, World of TRE edited by Salli Raeste, former fashion editor at Finnish Elle.

In the middle of the crowd with a hipster beard and black cap, is ‘très sympa’ Lasse Laine, co-funder of the store.  The other owners being Tanja Sipilä, who used to be in charge of Design Forum Finland, and Teemu Suviala, very stylish creative director of brand consultancy agency Wolff Olin’s in New York.

From the left: fashion editor with the mostest Liisa Kokko, actor’s agent Laura Munsterhjelm in a faux panther coat that I helped pick out, fond memories from Macy’s. DJ, make up artist, major turban personality Jopo Simeon. Check out his v-e-r-y colourful  instagram here also featuring his fellow members of the art collective Club la Persé. Designer Lincoln Kayiwa’s exhibition Carat, diamond shaped glass creations,  at the Gallery Caisa. From the 8th of September. Lars Hessian, with the red lipstick, is a hatmaker with his own brand Johnny’s got hattitude.

Who are these people? Edited: WoW! This just in!! The absolutely gorgeous blonde on the right is Lotta Jalava, a freelance landscape architect, the other less gorgeous but equally important and somewhat cute blonde to the left is Pekka Ijäs, owner of WWOOLLFF CO.
