A Summer Sunday Sangria

Post-vacation rehab thoughts, stuffing them in the same folder as those unpaid-bills-half-finished-everything for now. Today I am Scarlett O’Hara and I’ll think about those things tomorrow. Now it’s 2 PM and my thoughts are orange, fruity yellow and bubbly. Jerome made us a Sunday Summer Sangria the French way.

Cut 3 oranges, 2 lemons and 3 large juicy peaches in cubes or slices, cover with 50g of cane sugar and about 3dl of Rum add 3 sticks of cinnamon and let that marinade for 4 hours (I’d say it will be fine after an hour as well…if you are impatient..) Then pour over 2 bottles of Champagne and add 2 small cans of fizzy lemonade (Jerome used Seven Up). Add a handful of fresh mint, fill up with ice cubes, and voila!..Time to stick your toes in the warm sand, close your eyes and smile.

This might be enough for 6 persons. Or not.
