The current hot list of where to be seen and what to see in the Swedish Capital. This post has links to interesting people, places and other stuff.
Först av allt…You need to go and see the new exhibition Iconic Collaborations at Sven Harrys Museum! All the designer collaborations that H&M ever did. Watch me and all the regrets I have not buying them all. Although I did get Marni’s earrings and bracelet, Maison Martin Margiela’s oversized navy blazer, the red silk blouse by Giambattista Valli I wear at Christmas and probably some other pieces as well that I have forgotten. Now that I have seen the whole shebang the regrets dig deeper.
Pictures from the vernissage with the mostest of the mostests of Swedish Fashion royalty.
Thank you Vanessa Gandy for the invitation.

Stockholms Stadshotell, the book and other Picture Place
So in order to feel better I seek out the it place to be right now. The Bar at Stockholms Stadshotell. A fairly new but utterly exclusive boutique hotel a little off the beaten track on Södermalm, still close to Mariatorget though. A Dirty Margarita with my dear friend Jackie. And people watching.

You know you are in THE place when you can pet the rescue dogs of the current Stockholm’s it power couple, actress Agnes and media profile Filip in the lobby. A cute couple of dogs.
Agnes just released her book ¨Tjejen som tänkte för mycket: En orosdagbok¨ A book about overthinking, anxiety, commuting between Hollywood and Stockholm and probably some details from their relationship. The book is supposed to be very funny.

About the hotel. Thirty two rooms and extremely sophisticated attention to detail. Door handles, floors, subtle calming colours. And subdued lighting that does not make you look ugly. Classy. The waiter, although slightly reluctantly with a hint of side eyes, even moved the loudspeaker away from us so we could hear what we were thinking. Not to mention talking.
For a little piece of the luxury action to take home buy the bespoke scented hand soap and lotion in the reception. Woody and little Vanilla.
Then head to the classic artsy Tavernan, the hotel Rival’s restaurant by Mariatorget.Have some Korean spicy tofu and get inspired to do a gallery wall of pictures by watching all the portraits of important people in culture on their walls.

Must-do Bonus
Go to the movies in the small cinemas, Victoria on Södermalm or Grand on Sveavägen for example, and watch writer and notorious podcaster Alex Schulman’s directorial debut, Sweden’s Oscars movie submission Arkipelag. In English it is called Parental Supervision.
With Finnish-Swedish roots and accompanying childhood trauma the director’s and writer’s father characters in the movie, played by Gustav Skarsgård, Fares Fares and Linus Wahlgren, say things you should not say maybe not even think. Not to speak about the ”doing”. Also an interesting description of male group dynamics plus a some visual frames that will probably never leave your memory.

You’re welcome.
